We invite Dr. Asta Giniūnienė's lecture "Traditions of decorating the Holy Week of the Baroque period in Europe and Lithuania", which will take place on Thursday, March 21, at 5:00 p.m.
The lecture will present the 18th-19th centuries. p. the traditions of decorating the Holy Week of the Baroque period, European examples are introduced - magnificent scenes of the tomb of Christ, formed according to the principles of the Baroque secular theater. This context will help to reveal the theological, liturgical meaning, historical and artistic value of the unique Trinity decorations that have survived fragmentarily in Lithuania.
This lecture at the Sacred Museum is the first of the series of lectures "Known and unknown personalities who created Lithuanian culture".
