about
Estela Žukauskienė - daughter, mother, teacher, creator from Kaunas. He cherishes his undying love for his hobby - handicrafts, which he teaches to children of all ages. The author of the exhibition currently works as a technology teacher at Domeikava Gymnasium in Kaunas district.
For as long as she can remember, she has always had a favorite occupation related to needlework - in her childhood she sewed clothes for dolls, crocheted. The first napkin made of woolen red threads is still in my memory, washed with great love and caring help of my grandmother. At school, this hobby was nurtured by a demanding and strict, but very loving teacher, who instilled the author's love for beauty.
Estela likes and has tried many different types of needlework. You always have a knitting or lace project in your bag so that when you have a free minute, you have something to do and the time is not wasted. As a child, he was very fond of drawing, but he never studied art specifically. In his everyday life, a sheet of paper and a pen are always at hand - usually drawings are born on a small piece of paper while listening to lectures, seminars, meetings of the pedagogic council. Later, some of them transform into paintings or accessories.
Estela likes to knit, crochet, embroider or braid, but only when painting on silk does she feel she has discovered herself 100 percent. Silk painting is a really involved process. Working with this material is simply mesmerizing and opens up unlimited opportunities for self-expression - to realize your thoughts, emotions and moods through drawing, colors and shapes. In general, creativity, in all its forms, is an integral part of the exhibition author's being.
"I'm not a professional artist - I've become what I feel in my heart, I experience, nurture, what I desire. I create my fantasy world where I feel young, beautiful and happy - a world full of joy, bright colors, good emotions and harmony. I get inspiration from nature, because in it everything is rhythmic, meaningful and consistent, there is no disorder or chaos, in it you can gain experience and feel spiritual peace, find an inexhaustible palette of colors, hear silence and at the same time a variety of sounds, so my works are full of stylized natural motifs. The folk art of our nation also provides great inspiration for creativity: fabrics, cross-stitching, wood carving. You are very lucky in life when you can do a job you like, go where you are expected, communicate with those you don't need to pretend, listen only to those who don't lie. The Wonderful Magic of Life…. I want the exhibition of my works "Silk Magic" to help viewers feel this magic of my life in their hearts. Harmony, fullness, colors, shapes, and most importantly - THE MAGIC OF SILK..." - Estela Žukauskienė
