about

Using a monochrome color palette, the author relives moments of memory flashed from a distant childhood. Memory has no colors. It is an emotion that turns into paintings with nuanced everyday objects, textile works with history. It would meet the emotions of landscapes and familiar buildings, like faded photographs.
The exhibition "Notes of Memories" is like a gift from fate for the artist Kristina Kligina. A gift from a dream to reality. Although Kristina is Latvian, born in Sigulda, her family ties are closely connected with Lithuania. Since 1700, her mother's entire family tree has been rooted in the city of Pasvalis, Lithuania. Lithuanianness was felt throughout her childhood until her mother's death. And then the connection with Lithuania was lost...
Although the artist's mother, grandmother and great-grandmother were born Lithuanian, the artist Kristina knew nothing about her Lithuanian roots. Today, when there is no one to ask, in 2024 spring brought an incredible surprise. She found her family tree, which contains three centuries of history.
Kristina Kligina is grateful that art brought her spiritually closer to her ancestors. The exhibition "Notes of Memories" is artist Kristina Kligina's tribute to her Lithuanian roots.
