The artist Eugenija Ivaškevičiūtė is a native of Zemaita, originally from Mažeikiai region - Sūdintai. Created about 2,000 paintings, prepared over 20 personal and joint exhibitions with other artists in various Lithuanian cities and towns, libraries, churches, cultural centers.
After graduating from Kėdainiai Gymnasium, Eugenija studied at the 4th Technical School of Kaunas, acquired the specialty of draftsman-decipherer. I had to work in Belarus and Latvia, compiled topographical agricultural maps. in 1977 after graduating from the Interior and Equipment specialty course of the Kaunas West Department of the Vilnius Art Institute, she obtained the specialty of decorative art (textile) artist. She worked as a decorator of shop interiors and window displays in Kaunas. He started painting at an older age.
Her works of art reflect the artist's extraordinary energy, inner light, warmth, kindness. They playfully combine bright and darker colors, linear strokes, mysterious figures, into the depths of which the gaze plunges. Eugenija likes to paint flowers - in the paintings they bloom richly, charming with their vitality and dynamics.
For E. Ivaškevičiūtė, Birštonas has always been a sweet and charming, warm and cozy city. Today, the artist's paintings are "guests" in it, illuminating the spaces, inviting you to take a look.
The exhibition will be held in the Birštonas Public Library, on the 2nd floor, until November 19.
