In 1613, Shakespeare is recognized as the best writer of the century. Disaster strikes - the famous Globe Theater burns down. Devastated, Shakespeare returns to Stratford, where he is forced to confront his troubled past and his forgotten family. Tormented by the death of his only son, Hamnet, Shakespeare tries to repair the broken family ties. In doing so, the writer is forced to confront his own weaknesses.
