about
The exhibition presents four costumes of the Kernavė nobles, consisting of more than 60 reconstructed items of clothing - from underwear, shoes to jewelry and weapons. Most of the costume parts were made according to 13th-14th century technologies, which required knowledge of the craft and meticulous handwork. The symbolism of authority and power reflected in the clothing of the nobility is truly eye-catching and surprising with its luxury, abundance of colors and craftsmanship.
We invite you not to miss the opportunity to meet Edita Gile, a historical costume reenactor, member of the experimental archaeology club "Pajauta", and author and manager of the project, during the opening of the exhibition.
During the opening of the exhibition, E. Gilė will present the publication "Kernavė didikai" along with the costumes.
