We invite you to visit Danutė Statkuvienė's photography exhibition "Baroque of Dzūkija Churches" in Birštonas Sacred Museum.
The author's thoughts about the exhibition:
"For me, photography is a way of looking at objects that are interesting and beautiful to me. When you photograph, you see more and in a different way. And I am interested in things that have meaning, lasting value, have accumulated a certain identity, are unique. Architecture is one of them. Like Viktor Hugo wrote: "architecture is a primordial art, the great monuments of architecture are not so much individual as social creations, (...) the sediments of the nation, the accumulations of entire centuries, the thickets left by the constant evaporation of the human community."
"This personal exhibition is the fourth. I have been traveling a lot in Lithuania for twenty years and I still find unique beauties in small towns, in their churches, where sacred art has been accumulated for centuries" (Danutė Statkuvienė).
The exhibition will be open until October 30.
