Edward is a wealthy and ruthless businessman who buys up companies and then sells them off in pieces. Having arrived in Los Angeles on business, he decides to hire a prostitute. They develop a crush. Edward offers to pay her if she stays with him for a week while he plays the role of "rich and famous" (it is indecent for a man of his status to appear alone at parties and polo matches).
