about
Meditation practitioner and therapist Arūnas Valančius lecture-practical session "Regulation of stress and anxiety. How and where to start meditating?".
One of the many myths about meditation is that it is an "escape" strategy. But the real escape is when we live in a cloud of thoughts, constantly replaying old experiences or worrying about something that hasn't even happened yet.
Meditation, on the other hand, is the ability to regulate your emotions, not to engage in idle worry, fear, self-loathing, impatience, or whatever it may be. The essence of meditation is awareness, when we clearly perceive and can easily enough be with what is happening in the moment - whatever it is, both in the inner and outer world.
These skills are formed in proportion to the consistency of practice. If we could dedicate even a few minutes each day, we could very quickly experience life-changing experiences: dramatically reduced stress, more stable inner peace, increased clarity of thought, ability to focus and maintain focus, confidence, better sleep, and overall improved physical, mental, and emotional well-being. . This lesson with practical elements can become the first step to a big change.
