"Dive into nature": 64 students participated in the experimental camp near Birštonas

During the camp, teenagers aged 12-16 traveled on foot and by bicycle, rowed Viking boats "snakes" and "dragons" as well as kayaks, canoes and rowboats, completed a mountaineering and obstacle course, archery, learned the secrets of self-reliance and survival in nature, ropes and tied camp structures with sticks, got to know plants, made fires.
The nature photographer, ornithologist Marius Čepulis, who visited the camp, gave an engaging talk about the Lithuanian wildlife and what challenges have to be overcome in order to capture unique images in the "How to photograph nature" education. Alytus county police officers talked about the prevention of risky behavior among teenagers, and the Birštonas fire rescue service team demonstrated the capabilities of the available equipment in a demonstration program.
Students cooperated by playing sports and strategic team-building games, completed tasks in creative workshops and evening programs, talked about the day's experiences around the campfire, tasted forest raspberries and had a lot of swimming. Camping in nature strengthened the physical activity of the participants, and being with peers provided good emotions, new experiences, developed independence, self-confidence and expanded socialization opportunities.
