New Year and winter holidays in Birštonas: from a night in a yurt to a unique Christmas "tree"

Throughout December, exhibitions and performances take place here, as well as Christmas concerts. For the New Year and winter holidays, the Birštonas resort offers gastronomic routes and active entertainment - from overnight stays in a yurt to hiking in the Žvėrinčius forest. The highest observation tower in Lithuania here is illuminated in green and decorates the surroundings with a unique "Christmas tree", the top of which can be reached by climbing 300 steps.

"In Birštonas, we say that during the winter holidays, the entire resort becomes a Christmas town. Most restaurants and SPA centers are decorated with Christmas tree forests, offering special cinnamon-scented menus or entertainment for the New Year. Accommodation establishments and entertainment organizers have also prepared special offers for schoolchildren's winter holidays, so we expect to see a lot of joyful bustle in the resort," says Rūta Kapačinskaitė, director of the Birštonas Tourism Information Center.

New Year's Eve - musical cocktails and gourmet dinners

They say that how you greet the New Year is how it will be. Birštonas hotels, sanatoriums and SPA centers are preparing for an exclusive New Year's Eve, promising a variety of music, flavors and entertainment. The party at "Eglės sanatorium" will be started by the most famous Lithuanian music stars - Rūta Ščiogolevaitė, Aistė Pilvelytė, Vaida Genytė and Rosita Čivilytė, and the evening will be crowned with a night disco.

At the hotel "Vytautas Mineral SPA", guests will be entertained by a fire show, dance lessons, and luxurious feasts; the sanatorium "Versmė" will invite you to a performance by the band "Tequila". At the hotel "Harmony Birštonas", which opened this year, Anžela Adamovič will perform her most beautiful songs, and guests will enjoy a six-course dinner. The adults-only hotel "EGO SPA" offers to welcome the New Year in the atmosphere of saxophone sounds and Indraya songs.

The resort's restaurants, famous for their gastronomic traditions, are also ready to fulfill the desires of gourmets. The Kurhauzas restaurant has created a New Year's dinner with the theme "Five", and the palette of flavors varies from Lithuanian beets to chocolate. The Royal SPA Residence hotel invites you to a festive three-course dinner with fireworks, while the chefs of the Old Town Grill restaurant will treat guests to dishes with intriguing names: "First Applause", "Evening Ovation" and "The Sweetest Moment".

The yurt is suitable for accommodation all year round, and you can also come with pets.

It is no secret that being in the forest has a calming effect. However, Žvėrinčius forest therapy with a certified forest guide is much more than a simple walk. This activity (registration required) is a break from the daily routine, time with yourself and inner silence. During the therapy, the guide will show you the direction, but the real doctor will be the forest itself. Of course, you can walk around the resort on wellness trails and special routes, enjoying the fresh air and the beautiful nature of Birštonas, on your own.

Vacationers can also enjoy gastronomic adventures on the "Čiulba Ulba" route "Christmas Delicacies". Guests who register in advance will be able to visit three tasting stops: dessert, a winter drink and a hot dish, as well as hear Christmas stories and take a walk through the sparkling city.

A festively decorated, heated bus with an audio guide will tell the history of Birštonas, visit the resort's fir tree and the highest observation tower in Lithuania, specially illuminated for the holidays, which, like a fir tree, is wrapped in a green robe of light, delighting with the mood of the winter holidays.
