During Mother's Day, Rūta Šciogolevaitė will perform in Biršton: the gift will be the opportunity to hear Whitney Houston's songs live
It was Whitney Houston, according to Ruth herself, who was her first and best teacher of all time, who had an angelic voice, the spirit of a lion and a divine being. It is not for nothing that it is said that even birds came to listen to Whitney's songs! On Mother's Day, the artist invites you to give your mothers the best gift - being together. Concert in Wh. Houston Music has a great idea for that.
R. Šciogolevaitė says that this concert tour is her long-delayed dream. She remembers that W. Houston's music accompanied her throughout her life. "My dad had a record collection that included the first W. Houston record that I was completely mesmerized many years ago. I was still a teenager then. I remember when I was listening to this album, I thought that I would probably never be able to sing these songs. It seemed to me a distant and unattainable dream. I remembered that dream last year, when I performed W. Houston's works during a concert in Vilnius.
"I have been putting off this program for many years. But in the end, I gained the courage to stop thinking that someone will misunderstand, see that I think too highly of myself. All this out of great sincere love and respect for my teacher. We want to share such beautiful music", says R. Šciogolevaitė. She reveals that in her spring concerts, she will present not only W. Houston's well-known songs, but also perform her favorite work by this artist - "The Greatest Love of All" from the very first W. Houston record.
By the way, it turns out that the audience first heard R. Šciogolevaitė performing the legendary song "I Will Always Love You" by W. Houston, when R. Šciogolevaitė was still a teenager. "It was in my hometown, Šiauliai, when I was only 15 years old. Pianist Arijus Ivaškevičius and I performed this song by W. Houston during the musical break at the "Coolest Student" competition. To this day, I still remember when, after we performed the piece, there was complete silence in the hall. I was puzzled, turned to Arias, and then the hall gave us the loudest applause. It was a powerful experience that stuck with me for the rest of my life and motivated me to continue to pursue my goal of singing. This is a special moment in my life. Then I realized that the feeling that I have to sing is correct," the singer recalls.
After falling and getting back up many times, living a very colorful life, but always flying with music, Whitney left the world with such hits as "Dance with somebody", "I have nothing", the best love song of all time "I will always love you" " and many others. "I will always love you - Whitney Houston!" is a unique opportunity to hear how Rūta Šciogolevaitė and her faithful stage companions - pianist Paulius Zdanavičius and drummer Martynas Lukoševičius - found the approach to the American pop star, who is wrapped in laurels and never fades from memory. Together they will organize a cozy and spring-like concert.
